Abstract

ABSTRACT

The objectives of this research were : 1) to study the opinions of the youths to the roles of monastery to cultivate the value of tradition and culture to the youths  of Kratumbanwisetsamutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province, 2) to study the comparison of the roles of monastery to cultivate the value of tradition and culture to the youths  of Kratumbanwisetsamutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province, 3) to study the problems and suggestions about the roles of monastery to cultivate the value of tradition and culture to the youths  of Kratumban wisetsamutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province. The sampling group was 275 youths of Kratumban wisetsamutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province. The research is a mixed research methodology between quantitative and qualitative researches.  The statistics are used for the data analysis through such as percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D), T-test, F-test, One-way Analysis of Variance and Least Significant Difference : LSD., and the data analysis from interview was used by the content analysis technique.

 

The findings of this research as follows :

1. The youths had the opinions to the roles of monastery to cultivate the value of tradition and culture to the youths of Kratumbanwisetsamutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province. It is at the good level for overall with an average as 4.428. When considered in each side, found that the youths had the opinions to roles of monastery to cultivate the value of tradition and culture to the youths  of Kratumban wisetsamutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province for morality and ethics promotion side as the highest level and value creation, morality and ethics promotion, faith creation, tradition and culture promotion were at good level. For the highest opinion was morality and ethics promotion was  at 4.601 an average and the lowest opinion was tradition and culture promotion was at 4.332 an average.

2. The findings of comparison of the opinions of youths to the roles of monastery to cultivate the value of tradition and culture to the youths of Kratumban wisetsamutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province, classified by personal data and tested the hypothesis, found that the monks who were the questionnaires respondents who had the difference of sex,  age, class level and Dhamma Education level,  had the opinions to the roles of monastery to cultivate the value of tradition and culture to the youths of Kratumbanwisetsamutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province differently with significance of statistics at 0.05. It accepted the hypothesis.

3. The problems and obstacles about the youths lacked of understand the right value, lacked of understand about making a friendship with opposite sex, and lacked of knowledge the tradition and culture. For suggestion, should cultivate the right value to the youths and gratitude, should cultivate the people to have the mindfulness and to use the wisdom to solve the problem and should let the youths participate the activity about tradition and culture. The guidelines to support the roles of monastery to cultivate the value of tradition and culture to the youths of Kratumbanwiset samutthakhun school in Samuthsakhon province. The monastery should be the assistant to promote and support the gratitude, and transfer the knowledge about value, tradition, culture to the youths more and more for deep understand of the youths and to get in touch with and see the tradition and culture clearly.
