An Integration of Sangahavatthu IV in Development of Mat Chanthaboon Group Chanthaburi Province

Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

 

            The present study aimed at 1) studying Buddhadhamma in development of Chanthaboon Mat Group; 2) analytically studying integration in accordance with Four Sangahavatthu IV development of Chanthaboon Mat Group Chanthaburi Province; and 3) studying Buddhadhamma-integration in development of Chanthaboon Mat Group Chanthaburi Province. This present study employed a Quantitative research methodology, with a survey. The study sample consisted of 215 people. The subjects were recruited based on the sample size of Taro Yamane. The instrument used in data collection was a questionnaire, opened–end questions. The data were analyzed in terms of Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation. Inferential statistic of F-Test was used to determine the differences in mean scores of both groups, and One Way - ANOVA was used to determine the differences in mean scores among three groups or more.

           The study findings revealed that

           1. The overall opinions of members towards integration of Sangahavatthu for development of Chanthaboon Mat Group Chanthaburi Province was at an excellent level ( = 3.73). When considering each aspect, it was found that the opinions toward all aspects - Atthacariyā (Useful Conduct), Samānattatā (Even and Equal Treatment), Dāna (Generosity), and Piyavācā (Kindly Speech) - were at excellent levels.

           2. When comparing the opinions of people toward development of Chanthaboon Mat Group Chanthaburi Province based on personal factors (gender, age, level of education, status and monthly income) was found that there were no statistically significant differences on opinions toward development of Chanthaboon Mat Group Chanthaburi Province at 0.05 level, it denied the formulated hypotheses.

 

          

 

          3. With regard to problems and obstacles on development of Chanthaboon Mat Group Chanthaburi Province, it was found that 1) In aspect of Dāna, there is no exchange among members in group. 2) In aspect of Piyavācā, some did not speak politely in conversation and work. 3) In aspect of Atthacariyā, members did not help perform activities. And 4) in aspect of Samānattatā, members did not listen to others’ advice. In this study, it is recommended that; there should be exchange among members in group; members should speak politely and beneficially in conversation and work; members  should help perform activities; and members should listen to one other’s advice.
