''The Opinion of Monks and Novices toward the Problems of Learning of Students in Primary and High Religious School: A Case Study of the 9th Region Sangha''

Abstract

 

This research aims to : (1) The opinion of monks and novices about learning Phrapariyattidhamma Studies in Primary and High Religious School in General Education  of  the 9th Region Sangha (2) propose teaching and learning approaches that is appropriate for the teaching Phrapariyattidhamma Studies in Primary and High Religious School in General  Education  of  the 9th Region Sangha.  Population in this study are monks and novices in 54 Primary and High Religious School in General Education  of  the 9th Region Sangha and the 413 sample size of monks and novices. The  form of research study was descriptive method  (Descriptive Research) of the survey (Survey Research), collected by quantitative data, tool used in this study was  questionnaire data  analyzed with the statistical method percentage by a computer program. The study found that 1. The opinion of monks and novices about learning Phrapariyattidhamma Studies in Primary and High Religious School in General Education of the 9th Region Sangha as follows 1.1 The school has a textbooks to fit the content to be taught for monks and novices properly.  1.2 Teachers attended the classes on time and between teaching teachers knew how to motivate students to actively paid attention to the lessons. 1.3 School executive did not allow students to comment on the teachers caused by the old tradition that criticizing  the monkhood teacher strictly prohibited. 1.4 Teachers had emotional conflict with students still be little problem because sometimes teachers may teach with the emotional rather than reasonable explanation caused the students’ dislike. 1.5 Teachers used current situations and modern sciences while teaching at the middle level. 1.6 Government supports less computers and internet for Buddhist schools 2. Teaching Approaches that appropriate for teaching in Primary and High Religious School in General Education of the 9th Region Sangha as follows  2.1 instruct  lay-teachers to know the proper action in teaching the monks and novices 2.2 Teachers should teach students to understand the academic courses and prepare the teachers in accordance with educational curriculum.  2.3 Teachers should hold special projects and activities beside the curriculum.
