ABSTRACT

This qualitative research aims to (1) study the perfect human in philosophy, (2) study the perfect human in Buddhist philosophy, and (3) analyze how to practice for the perfect human.

The results are found as follows:

The perfect human being  according to philosophy has to know both the useful things and the useless things, be conscious, think reasonably, know how to make a right decision, know how to choose both less substance, and substance, and know how to make their duty well. Thus, those who behave as mentioned above will become the perfect human  being. Human  being  as a trainable animal has to train physical, verbal, mental, and intelligent behavior for achieving the special state of human, that is, enlightenment.

The perfect human being according to Buddhist philosophy refers to the person with perfect heart, with high spirit, with the complete characteristics specified in Buddhism, with knowledge to abstain from doing bad things, but to make the good things. Moreover, the perfect human  being  means a person who knows how to make useful  things to themselves and the society as whole, to behave well according to Dhamma principles, to behave happily by the way of physics, mind, and wisdom, to solve the social problems for a happy life, to train their minds for a completion with mind, to live above the problems of world and Dhamma, and to be human without problems, that is, a life of happiness.

How to achieve the perfect human being is found that each step of perfect human being from the lowest to the highest needs support and development continuously. The first step of perfect human being  is making what  has  not  happened to happen for developing themselves on the theory of developing themselves according to moral, mind, and wisdom for the best benefit of the perfect human being using Dhamma principles to support and develop human to the perfect level. Five precepts (Panca-sila), five ennobling virtues (Panca-dhamma), wholesome course of action (Kusala-kammapatha), noble path (Ariya-magga) are Dhamma principles to support and develop human perfectly from the beginning to the highest level.

There are six ways to support and develop human to the perfect state. They are (1) studying each sutra of Dhamma principles comprehensively, (2) keeping each sutra of well understood Dhamma principles in their minds, (3) applying each of  Dhamma principles for the real practice properly, (4) enduring, working hard, attempting, and persevering to behave themselves according to each sutra of Dhamma continuously, (5) trying to make the good action which has not happened to happen, and keeping the already happened good things forever, and (6) attempting to abstain from the happened bad things, and forbidding the bad things which has not happened to happen. After following the above mentioned process, the human will become completely perfect.
