Abstract

The main objectives of this research are: i) to determine the efficiency of Sangha Administration in Muang District, Phrae Province; ii) to compare the opinions between Abbort and Buddhist monk towards the efficiency of Sangha Administration in Muang District, Phrae Province; and iii) to study the problems and suggestions for improving the Sangha Administration in Muang District, Phrae Province. The sample used in this study were 248 Abbort and Buddhist Monks, are being drawn by cluster sampling technique. The tool used in data collection was questionnaire measuring the effectiveness of the Sangha Administration in Muang District, Phrae Province, with reliability value = 0.974. The data analysis is computed by using statistical techniques such as the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test and analysis ANOVA (One way analysis of variance), and to compare the differences of paired means, the Least Significant Difference (LSD) is employed.

The findings of the study are concluded as follows:

1. The overall efficiency of Sangha administration in Muang District, Phrae Province, is found at the high level ( X = 4.04). When having considered into each aspect, it is also noticed at the high levels in all aspects.

2. To compare the opinions of abbort and Buddhist monk towards efficiency of Sangha Administration in Muang District, Phrae Province are found no significant differences, thus, rejecting the hypotheses.

3. Regarding the problems and abstacles, Problems and obstacles: The Sangha had no budget for development in many areas, especially on education matters,

the work is not clear and decisive, communication is not clear, trudge to work often with no development of new things. Conflicts between home and temple, failure to respect each other’s, junior need to treat adults, problem of drug and other causes of ruins which are major problems of Sangha to be solved urgently.

Suggestions forther for studying: In order to be the most Sangha administration developing, the Sangha administrator should allocates the limited budjet to be the most useful by focusing primarily of Sangha such as Dhamma education, Pali education, reparation and promotion of things beneficial for Sangha,  resolves the conflict between Sangha and home, train and provide knowledge to respect each other,  develop innovations for the benefits of groups,  find out a way to prevent drug abuses and help monitoring thoroughly.
