Abstract

The main objective of this thematic paper are : to study the personal administration in the modern concept of personal administration in organization, to study the personal administration in Buddhist teachings, and to do a comparative study of the both concepts, However, this thematic paper is rather based on qualitative research’s format.

The result of the study found that the modern concept of the personal administration in organization was formed on the basic of utilizing the personal ability of a person in order to enhance the prosperity and stability to the organization. On the contrary, according to the Buddhist teachings in this filed, the development total personal quality was much concerned. Comparatively, the modern concept of personal administration in organization went in the same vein of the Buddhist teachings on this filed with remarkable result; for instance, the main purpose of personal administration’s process was to accomplish the objectives of the organization on the basic of ethic; there was a process of qualifying a person who wanted to engage with the organization including specific trainings which designed to develop the ability of organization members.  Furthermore, social welfare and facility were provided accordingly to the rule and regulation of the organization; on one hand, there was some lawful actions to act on a violator in the organization in which included the process of disqualifying a member of the organization as well as the process of retirement.

Nevertheless, there were some differences between the modern cocept of personal administration in the organization and that of Buddhist teachings as follow: the objective of modern concept of personal administration in organization mainly aimed at making great profit, while morality and freedom (liberation) were the most important in Buddhism.  For the case of rule and regulation, there might be some exception for a group of organization member, but there was no room for ignoring the rule and regulation (vinaya) in Buddhism. Moreover the procedure of qualifying a person entering into the membership of the organization according to the modern concept of personal administration in organization was limited with certain amount, while Buddhism welcomes all to come and experience.  Pre-work training in the field of modern concept of personal administration in the organization was normally formulated to be done within six months or one year.  There was no second chance for the failure, but the Buddhist trainings for the new comers of Sangha Oder was five years with life time chance to qualifying themselves.  More importantly, according to the modern concept of personal administration in the organization, social welfare and facility were practiced to provide with fiscal and physical support, but Buddhism went beyond those by pointing out the path to value life in all aspects.  Last but not least, the date of retirement was fixed in the system of modern concept of personal administration in the organization, on the contrary, there was no such obligation in Buddhism teachings of personal administration in organization.
