Abstract

The study of Religion Administration of Phrasangkhadikan is designed and implemented to achieve these objectives: a) to study the details of the topic assigned thoroughly  b) to compare the similarities and differences of the current situations  c) to study the various suggestions concerning the said topic.  All these issues are done among 106 Phrasangkhadhikans within the boundary of Bangkok.  The data is analyzed by means of frequency, percentage, mean and standard variation and one-way analysis of variance.

The opinions, collected from the sample group, lead to the conclusive results which can be sorted into 6 aspects.  They are as follow:-  a) the governance  b) the religious study  c) the educational aid  d) the propagation of Buddhism  e) the public administration and  f) the public housing by the overall

The study apparently found that Phrasangkhadhikans focus on the importance of planning the construction of conventional temples owing to the generally accepted close connection in terms of culture between monasteries and local inhabitants.  As for educational aid, a great number of Phrasangkhadhikans grant perpetual support to needy students and schools in the forms of scholarships at all levels. Besides the trend is clearly growing so the closeness between the two sides is confirmed and expanded. Next comes the propagation of Buddhism. While Buddhism is strongly established in the kingdom of Thailand, Phrasangkhadhikans make it a point to have it spread abroad.  Monks are trained to use English and convey accurate contents of Buddhism.  With their English fluency, they can help promote the religion both to foreigners in Thailand and overseas.  As for the public housing, rarely do Thai Buddhists live far from temples, physically as well as mentally.  They often pay visits to temples of their choice.  Seeing this,Phrasangkhadhikans perform significant roles to promote the co-operation between communities and temples.  Facilities are constructed and provided for the flow of incoming merit-makers.  Another essential point is the religious studies.  With the utmost quality education of Dhamma and Bali at the pinnacle of the plan, Phrasangkhadhikans do their best to manage the financial budget, purchase and maintain equipment needed for the mission.  Last but not least they see to it that high caliber teaching staff is employed.  Phrasangkhadhikans take excellent care to develop the temples of which they are in charge.  It is also clear that these procedures are done across the board at all time.

The opinions collected for and used in this study are supplied by Phrasangkhadhikans, all in Bangkok, at various administrative levels ranging from vice Dean district; Dean district, assistant abbot and abbot.  There is not statistically significant difference at 0.05

The suggestions concerning Religion affair administration in Bangkok.

The participation and attention to the meeting of the synod or General Assembly of the Phrasangkhadhikans must be encouraged.  So when problems or issues arise, clarification can be achieved in time for correction. As of now, there are not enoughpersonel to teach at Dhamma schools.  To alleviate this shortage, more incentive and morale support must be promoted by administrators for both parties; the teachers as well as the learners.  So more people would turn to this field and it must be implemented on a regular basis. Phrasangkhadhikans are supposed to take every opportunity available to encourage propagation of Buddhism especially on Buddhism’s sacred days.  This should not be limited solely within the monastery’s compound.  Outside communities, such as schools and government offices should also be included.Construction of physical facilities is necessary but it should not be overly done.  Budgets are limited so they must be sensibly distributed in order to accomplish a decent balance.Phrasangkhadhikans should involve themselves with local organizations in order that more and better activities on public assistance are obtained.
