ABSTRACT

             This thesis is of 3  objectives,namely :- 1. To  study the models of Kamma in Theravada Buddhism. 2. To study the problems of Kamma in Thai societies 3. To propose the proper  models of Kammas to the present Thai society.

                 The results of research  found that  the patterns  of explaning  the Kamma  in Tipiṭaka  are  of 3 types,namely :- 1. The explanation 2. The conversation 3. The answers to the questions. The explanation will be in 5 frames of the description, namely :- Akusala,Kusala, the results of the Akusala, the results of the kusala  and the Extingquishing of the Kammas. Regarding the explanation of the Kamma in the  Commentary, there are 2 types  of  explanation, namely :- the descriptive one and the quoting of the example groups.

                 Regarding the patterns of the explanation of Kamma  at the present time,there are 3 patterns,namely :- 1. The explanation according to the scriptures 2. The explanation by the result of  the  practice meditation 3. The general explanations by the person who are not the monks . The patterns of the explanation of the Kamma  at present, are of different factors which cause the listener to misunderstand.

                 The researcher has proposed the patterns to the explaing the Kamma by using  System Theory to show the process and the result of Kamma. However, the users of this patterns must understand very well the principles of Kamma.
