Abstract

         The objectives of this research were : (1) to study Management to Promote the Holistic Health of Monks in Mueang  District, Nakhonpathom Province, (2) to compare Management to Promote the Holistic Health of Monks in Mueang  District, Nakhonpathom Province, (3) to study Management to Promote the Holistic Health of Monks in Mueang  District, Nakhonpathom Province.

         This research is the mixed method research. For the quantitative research that the tool is used as the questionnaire and the data analysis are through frequency, percentage, an average, standard deviation (S.D) for describing data from variables or personal characteristics. The analysis was also done through t-test for analysis the hypotheses in order to test the average difference between the two groups and f - test by one - way ANOVA. For the qualitative research used in-depth interview from 7 key informants by using the content analysis technique.

         The findings of this research as following :

         1. Management to Promote the Holistic Health of Monks in Mueang District, Nakhonpathom Province, found that in overall, was at moderate level with an average at 3.26 and when considered in each aspect, found that Management to Promote the Holistic Health of Monks in Mueang District, Nakhonpathom Province for all six aspects, was  at moderate level. The highest management was the emotion that had an average at 3.45. The lowest opinion was the drug or narcotics that had an average at 3.09.

         2. The findings the comparison to Management to Promote the Holistic Health of Monks in Mueang District, Nakhonpathom Province, classified by personal data by testing the hypothesis and found Management to Promote the Holistic Health of Monks in Mueang District, Nakhonpathom Province who had the difference of age, had the opinion to the management to the holistic health promotion in overall differently. It was significantly statistic at 0.05. It accepted the hypothesis. But the monks at Mueang District, Nakornpathom province who had the difference of ordination year, general education, Dhamma education and Pali education, had the opinion to the management to the holistic health promotion differently. It rejected the hypothesis.

         3. The problems and obstacles about the monks that cannot choose the food that the people offered it. Monks lack of nutrition knowledge, monks cannot exercise like playing other sports as householders, monks lack of exercise regularly, monks have not enough meditation practice, no rubbish selection, no enough time for residence and toilet cleaning, burning the rubbish within the temple, making friendship with cigarette smokers, monks smoke cigarette before ordination and monkhood, the temple lacks of rules about drug seriously.

         Suggestions , the people should realize the benefit of food to offer the monks as priority, the public health officers should give the knowledge about nutrition to the monks, should have the exercise room  for the monks within the temple like temple ground sweeping, temple should have meditation practice regularly, municipality should have the rubbish bin for rubbish selection and throwing at specific area, should have the residence cleaning regularly within the temple, should have public health officers to give the knowledge and look after the dogs within the temple, should have the municipality officers to collect the rubbish and give the knowledge to the monks about rubbish management, should have the policy for stop smoking cigarette before ordination and should have the project to offer the knowledge about drug or narcotics chemicals to the monks.
