Abstract

              The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the morale in the performance of non-commissioned police officers at Dongcharoen Police Station, Phitchit Province, 2) to study the relationship between the personal factors and the morale in the performance of non-commissioned police officers at Dongcharoen Police Station, Phitchit Province, and 3) to study theproblems, obstacles and suggestions for the performance of non-commissioned police officers at Dongcharoen Police Station, Phitchit Province.

          This research applied the Mixed Methods Research consisting of the qualitative and quantitative research. The sample was 70 non-commissioned police officers at Dongcharoen Police Station, Phitchit Province. The tools of the research were questionnaire with the 0.902 of reliability and in-Depth interview from the 9 key informants.The statistics for analysis data used Frequencies, Percentage, Mean, and Standard Deviation and Chi-Square test.

 

             

 

              Results of the Research

              1. Overall,thelevel of the morale in the performance of non-commissioned police officers at Dongcharoen Police Station, Phitchit Province was at the highlevel ( = 3.97). When considering each aspect, it arranged from the high to low level: the stability and security in the working life ( = 4.20), the satisfaction in the working ( = 4.09), the acceptance( = 4.00), the benefit( = 3.89), the opportunity in the progress( = 3.86), and the environment in the working( = 3.79).

2. The relationship between the personal factors and the morale in the performance of non-commissioned police officers at Dongcharoen Police Station, Phitchit Province were thatnon-commissioned police officers having the different sex, age, degree of education, level of rank and income had no the relationship with the morale in the performance of non-commissioned police officers. Therefore, the hypothesis was denied. However, non-commissioned police officers having the field had the relationship with the morale in the performance of non-commissioned police officers. Therefore, the hypothesis was accepted.

              3. The problems, obstacles and suggestions for the performance of non-commissioned police officers at Dongcharoen Police Station, Phitchit Province were that giving the reward in the accusing of peddling drugs was insufficient. The opportunity in upgrading the rank was less. The non-commissioned police officers were not accepted by the colleagues. The opinion was different. The environment in the working was limited. The cooperation in teamwork was insufficient.

The suggestions were that the commander should give the reward to the subordinates for accusing of peddling drugs to make the morale to the subordinates in the working, ask the subordinate in the living and increase the opportunity in upgrading the rank. The commander should assign the work to the subordinate in the experience, promote the subordinate in expressing the opinion to set the ways for the working, analyze the situation in the future to find the ways for resolving,and teach the subordinates in the inspector.
