THE TEMPLE MANAGEMENT OF THE ABBOT IN THUNGKOK SUBDISTRICT SONGPHINONG DISTRICT, SUPHANBURI PROVINCE

Abstract

                                                ABSTRACT            

             The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the levels of opinions of temple committee to monastery management of abbots in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province, 2) to study the comparison of the opinions of temple committee to monastery management of abbots in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province, classified by personal factors, and 3) o study the problems, obstacles and suggestions about  levels of opinions of temple committee to monastery management of abbots in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province. The sampling group of this research was 184 people in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province. The research methodology was the mixed method research.  The tool used for data collection was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation; SD, t-test and F-test by one way analysis of variance; ANOVA, and the data analysis from interview by content analysis technique.

The findings of this research were as following :

               1. The people had the level of the opinions to monastery management of abbots in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province in the overall were at high level. (3.92).  

                2. The results of analysis about comparison of the monastery management of abbots in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province, classified by personal factors, it found that the sampling group who had differences of career and work experience, they had the opinions to monastery management of abbots in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province differently by statistically significance at the 0.05 level. It is the relevant hypothesis. But that the sampling group who had differences of gender, age, status and education, they had the opinions to monastery management of abbots in Text Box: งToongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province indifferently, so it rejected the hypothesis.

                3. The Problems, obstacles about monastery management of abbots in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province and it found that it had the centralized administration at the abbots only, it  could sometimes not take care of the monks, novices and people properly, not suitable, calm less and inconvenient Dhamma School or Phrapiriyatidhamma School because they used the chanting hall as schools that it sometimes used to merit making for the people. The scholarship distribution was not fair, lacked of technique and presentation method   to the focus group in every age and inefficiency.

                Recommendations for improvement:  Sangha administrators in every level should go and see to give the advice and motivation to the subordinates. The room of Dhamma school or Phrapariyatidhamma School should be separated for teaching particularly and scholarship distribution for educational welfare should be fair for all, training and selection to propagate Buddhism should motivate and interesting to the people in every age, to get the support from government officials and cooperate with offices or local administration organization to help the people in the community.

                4. Guidelines for supporting the monastery management of abbots in Toongkok Sub-District, Songpeenong District, Suphanburi province. In the overall found that the administration is the heart of Sangha administration. If the administration was failed, it could not precede other sectors at all like education, propagation or other welfares to get the success. Therefore, the abbots who play the most major role in the monastery management should be well educated and abled persons and then administration goes ahead well and should give the most importance to religious education that it is big task, be restricted to educational management by focusing on teaching the morality and ethics to the children and youths, and teaching the Buddhism to them for preserving Buddhism, the ways to teach Buddhism in the past was statistic approach, they should have integration for modern constructions and preserve the heritage of culture and teaching of Buddhism should get the support by the people for using in daily life for the their benefits and happiness.
