ABSTRACT

The objectives of this research were : 1) to study the people’s satisfaction towards the temple visiting to practice mediation on sunday of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew  district, Samuthsakorn province, 2) to study the comparison of the people’s satisfaction towards the temple visiting to practice mediation on sunday of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew  district, Samuthsakorn province, 3) to study the problems and suggestions about the people’s satisfaction towards the temple visiting to practice mediation on sunday of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew  district, Samuthsakorn province. The sampling group was 203 people who came to practice mediation on Sunday of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew district, Samuthsakorn province. The research is a mixed research methodology between quantitative and qualitative researches. The quantitative research was the survey research by using the questionnaires and qualitative research used the in-depth interview from key informants. The statistics are used for the data analysis through such as percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D), T-test, F-test, One-way Analysis of Variance and Least Significant Difference : LSD., and the data analysis from interview was used by the content analysis technique.

The findings of this research as follows :

1. The people had the satisfaction to practice mediation on Sunday of Watlaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew district, Samuthsakorn province. It is at good level for overall with an average at 4.023. When considered in each side, found that the highest average was personal with an average at 4.271 and the lowest average was the place with an average at 3.829.

2. The findings of comparison of the people’s satisfaction towards the temple visiting to practice mediation on sunday of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew district, Samuthsakorn province, classified by personal data and tested the hypothesis, found that the people who had the difference of status like age, level of education and career, had the satisfaction to practice mediation on Sunday of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew  district, Samuthsakorn province differently with significance of statistics at 0.05. It accepted the hypothesis. But the people, who had the difference of sex, had the satisfaction of the people to practice mediation on Sunday of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew district, Samuthsakorn province indifferently. It rejected the hypothesis.

3. The problems and obstacles about the people’s satisfaction towards the temple visiting to practice mediation on sunday of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew district, Samuthsakorn province, and found that the content of practice mediation was not proper and too difficult to understand, lack of educational support for monks and novices, not good facility to practice meditation, place for practice mediation improperly. For suggestions, should set up the content properly and easily to understand for Dhamma practitioners and should invite special mediation specialists to lecture as special activity, should arrange enough food and cold drink to Dhamma practitioners and no making the loud noise in the temple. The synthesis the guidelines to support the people’s satisfaction towards the temple visiting to practice mediation of WatLaksiratsamosorn, Banpaew district, Samuthsakorn province, found that the teaching as the truths is law of action or karma in Buddhism. The mediation master or monks should have well knowledge and specialist in meditation, set up good residence for meditation practice and should share the area for meditation practice and temple clearly.
