An Analytical study of the Solution of Anger Problems In the Present Society Based on Buddhism

Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

 

 

 

This thesis  is  of three aims, namely :- 1) to study the solution of the anger in Buddhism,  2) to study the problems occurred from the anger in the present society  and 3) to analytically study of  the solution of the anger in the present society in Buddhism. This thesis is  a documentary research. 

 

The result of research is found that the anger means malice, malignancy, dissatisfaction, indignation, vengeance, and mayhem. When the anger occurs, it burns the mind, makes intensity in the mind and affects in thought speech and action. The anger can be corrected by friendliness precept patience gentleness and wisdom. These Dhammas can be used for solution of anger.

 
The social problems occurred from the anger in the present society are the infringement of five precepts. The problems are occurring in the present society namely : crime,  killing, Burglary, fraud, fraudulent, Corruption, Drug problems, and economic problems. These many problems began from the person. That is, the person want to reinforce themselves to be the power. It is the cause leading to miserliness, anger and dotage and leads to the social’s problems. When the anger occurred, it will lead to the infringement of five precepts. That affects to the doer persons and the social vexation. When it is considered as the cycle of Independent Origination namely : defilements action (Kamma) and Results, it is found that the defilement as anger is the cause of the anger in immoral way, action (Kamma) is the part of bad conduct and the result is the part of action’s result such as legal proceedings.
From to study of Buddha’ s teaching, it is found that Dhamma that can be applied for solving the anger the present society is as follow : Loving-kindness (mettâ) is the blessing for the others, it is used for protection the cruelty, the precept is the prohibition in bodily and verbal action, it is used for protection infraction of other’s person and asset ownership, contentment (santosa) is satisfaction with whatever is one’s own, it is used for to wall the anger selfishness depended desire and attachment, the patience (khanti) is the patience for covetousness and bad action in immoral way, the wisdom (paññâ) is the highest Dhamma in Buddhism divided to three parts namely : knowledge condemnation of anger, consideration and  abandoning of anger.
