Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

          The research of “The Opinions of Secondary School Students toward Buddhist Monks’ Role in Virtue and Ethics Development of youth in Nongkhai Province” aimed 1) to study in supporting Buddhist Monks Role in Virtue and Ethics Development of youth in Nongkhai province. This study was Mixed Method Research with quantitative and qualitative research, 2) to compare in supporting Buddhist Monks Role in Virtue and Ethics Development of youth in Nongkhai province. This study was Mixed Method Research with quantitative and qualitative research Personal divided, and 3) to provide guidelines and recommendations in supporting Buddhist Monks Role in Virtue and Ethics Development of youth in Nongkhai province. This study was Mixed Method Research with quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative research, by Survey Research and qualitative research is to collect data by in-depth interviews with content analysis technique.

 

             The findings were listed as follows:

              The opinions of secondary school students toward Buddhist monks’ role in virtue and ethics development of youth in Nongkhai province were at the highest level overall, (x = 4.54) when considering by the aspect, they, the aspect of Gratitude, Honesty, Responsibility, Charity and Diligence, were at the highest level. But the only aspect of Discipline was at the high level.

 

              The comparison of the opinions of secondary school students toward Buddhist monks’ role in virtue and ethics development of youth in Nongkhai province was not different.

              The recommendations in supporting Buddhist monks’ role in virtue and ethics development of youth in Nongkhai province showed that the school should provide the moral and ethical training camp for all level of students, and should have the Dhamma learning medias for more interesting. The involved agencies should pay attention and support more than ever.

              The result of overall interview can conclude that cultivating morals and ethics to children and youths need to be treated continuously and seriously, involved agencies are home include parents, temple include monks, schools include administrators and teachers have to promote and support in human resources and moral, ethic development more than ever, for the well future of children and youth in Nong Khai province.
