Abstract

               The research entitled “An Analytical Study of the Application of Buddhadhamma in Community Development of Buddhist Monks : A Case Study of Kudlad Sub–district, Meuang District, Ubonratchani Province” aimed to study the concepts in developing the community, to study the problems of the community in Kudlad sub-district, Meuang, Ubonratchani province as well as to study the application of Buddha Dhamma of Buddhist monks in developing the community in Kudlad sub-district, Meuang, Ubonratchatani province

                   It has been found that the concepts of community development involved the advancement, changing to the progressing, the extricating and the qualities of life were generated both of physicality and mentality as well as the subsistence in the better way. Community development involved the changeability of economics and society in an advanced condition, encouraging the people in the rural area to create their own ways of living and living in the perfect subsistence level as well as allowing them to participate in developing profoundly in particular on the process of planning and doing. The said concepts would developed the community in economics, society, culture, administration as well as custom and tradition.

 

                   In Kudlad sub-district, the physical problems consisted of the following groups, for example, a rapid change of the community into a large area caused the congested residency, and likewise, the increasing of many vehicles caused the transportation traffic and inconvenience in traveling. Meanwhile, the social and environmental problems were the great number of population, waste and environment pollution, air pollution, water pollution. These problems were produced by the social change, the innovation of agricultural mode to industrial mode and the people under consideration accepted a newer value. Further, the mental and emotional problems constituted the lacking of an application of Buddha Dhamma into their life that caused the misbelieving, great strain and mental problem. The problems in wisdom consisted of the following details; uninteresting in Buddha Dhamma or meditation, lacking of educational institutes or schools. For this, the Buddhist monks participated in solving the mentioned problems. 

                   The Buddhist monks in Kudlad have applied the four base of social solidarity, the virtues for fraternal living and the precept to educate and train the people on donation, self-sacrifice, ministration, be benevolent and generous, and compassion. Moreover, the monks have also suggested and exemplified the people on the demeanor, performing the common interest, avoiding exploitation, sharing the troubles and happiness as well as acknowledging and solving the existing problems in order to maintain the happiness and peaceful co-existence.
