Abstract

Abstract

There are three purpose of this thesis is 1) to study the principles of the Buddhist Moral Code that caused to the birth of Indra deva, 2) to study the history and importance of Sakapanha Sutra and related sutras, and 3) to study and analyze Buddhist Moral Code in Sakapanha Sutra and related sutras.

The results of the study and research found that the Buddhist have shown the practice to be human beings as deities by following the Three Bases of Meritorious Action. Ten Bases of Meritorious Action, Sampatta or Achievement, Deva Dhamma and Seven Watta Chapters. The person who is a Indra need to be disciplined following Seven Watta Chapters namely taking care his parents, being humble and respecting for elders, speaking proper words, speak the truth, be free of stinginess ,willing to sacrifice, speak up honestly and not be angry, and have other virtues. These principles are the great benefit to practitioners.

The Buddha was in contact with the deities on a regular basis with friendly relationship. The deva had the opportunity to listen to the Dharma. And when they were in doubt, they could come down to the human world, to ask the Buddha for the solution. The principle that the Buddha brought to the deities could be classified as a major development, namely the principle for satisfying the curiosity of the deities for self-improvement, to develop society and to liberate. It is an important goal in Buddhism. The principle claimed that it covered the depths of practice which lead to the liberation from the Logiya level or Mundane until the level of Lokuttara or Supramundane is a MangalaSutta, the main practice is comprised of 38 virtues such as do not meet the bully, etc. to begin to the spirit of yoga as the last.
