Abstract

Abstract

The aims of this research were: 1) to study the participatory administration based on IV Iddhipada principles (iddhipāda, path of accomplishment) in the monastic high schools in Luang Prabang, Lao; 2) to compare the administrations mentioned, classified by the samples’ status, age and education; 3) to study the ways of the administration above. This study is a mixed method research. For the quantitative research, the samples were 302 of the administrators, teachers and parents, selected by Krejcies & Morgan method and Simple Random Sampling; the tool used in this process was a questionnaire with its reliability value of 0.97. The statistics used were: Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test (Independent Samples), f-test (One-way ANOVA) and Scheffe’ method. For the qualitative research, the target group included 4 administrators, selected by purposive sampling and the tool used in this stage was an interview form to collect the data before being interpreted by content analysis to find the conclusion.

The research results were as follows:

            1) The statistic scores based on the opinions of the administrators, teachers and parents towards the participatory administration above in overall and each-aspect perspectives were at a high level.

            2) Based on the comparison, the samples with differences in status, age and education had their opinions on the participatory administration indifferently; this denied the hypothesis determined.

            3) The ways of the administration based on IV Iddhipada principles in the research area were that the administrators, teachers and parents should develop the participatory administration based on IV Iddhipada principles by their heart, wisdom, devotion and patience; and they should take the mentioned administration as the guideline of the schools; the group head of the schools should create the plan for the collaboration network between the school staff and parents in consistency with the participatory administration based on IV Iddhipada principles for the success of the operation.
