Abstract

This Dissertation comprised of three objectives, namely; (1) to transliterate the Sambhāravipāka scripture into Pali-Thai character and translate it into Thai language, 2) to study the background, the author, the period of composing, the structures, the composed style, the contents, the methods of composing and relationship between the Sambhāravipāka  scripture and Tripitaka, commentaries, sub-commentaries and also  particular scriptures, and (3) to analytical study of the language style in authoring the Sambhāravipāka scripture and other referenced scriptures

 

Sambhāravipāka came from Pali word, ‘Sambhāra’ means ‘to collect’ which signifies perfection accumulation for complete enlightenment by oneself and ‘Vipāka’ means ‘fruit’, therefore Sambhāravipāka means the potential cause accumulating of complete perfection for the fruit of the Fully Enlightened knolwedge. This scripture has presented the principle of wholesomeness performances done only for Supreme Buddha being (Adhikārabuddhakārakadhamma) of Bodhisatta who later became Fully Enlightened One known as ‘Gotama Buddha’. The original Palm leaf manuscript of Sambhāravipāka with Pali written in ancient Khom characters evidently found no name of composer and any information of its history. It might be assumed that the said manuscript was a Pali text written in Thailand between 1850-1888 BE because it was found only in Thailand which had significantly influenced and related to other Pali texts concerning the Buddha’s story composed in Thailand such as Pathomsombodhikathā scripture and so on.
