Abstract

              This thematic paper is of 2 objectives: 1) to study the women’s beauty in Tipitaka and inAtthākathā, and 2) to analyzetheperspective ofthe women’s beauty in Buddhism

                  The result of the research showsthat the women’s beauty in Tipitaka and inAtthākathāhave many dimensions andare valuable in two areas: 1) the external beauty: the physical beauty appearing as concrete. When seeing, one will have a sense of recognizing its value such as satisfaction, admiration, and joy; and 2) the inner beauty: the beauty that focuses on the person’s mental state, the great mental capacity, and the morality of the mind. For instance, the help to others, havingthe compassionate heart.Additionally, Buddhadhammas that promote the women's beauty as the tools to improve their behaviors are Kusala-Kammas (Good Deeds), Khanti (Patience), Soracca (Gentleness), Appamāda (Heedfulness), and Noble Eightfold Paths.
