An Analytical Study of the Discourse Creating Harmonization According to the Well-spoken Speech of Gen. Prayuth Chan-o-cha (Peace Studies)

Abstract

 

 

Using the form of Qualitative Field Research, this Thesis is of 3 objectives: 1) to study the use of discourse to create harmonization of Gen. Prayuth Chan-o-cha, 2) to study the idea rerated to the principle of Subhãsitavãcã: Well-spokenSpeechin Buddhist Scripture, and 3) to analytically study the discourse for harmonization according to the principle of Subhãsitavãcã:Well-spoken Speech of Gen. Prayuth Chan-o-cha; thetools to collect data are from “Returning Happiness to the People of the Nation”broadcasting program and an in-depthinterviewof 9 key informants. 

             From the research, it is found the followings:

             1) The discourse for creating harmonization is the matter of power, the expression of facts; if there is the need to harmonize Thai society, the discourse must be in creative way and causes benefits.

             2) The principle of Subhãsitavãcã: Well-spoken Speech isthe nice speech or wording when sent to the listeners, they feel confident leading to harmonization and peace in the society.

             3) The discourse creating harmonization according to the principle of Subhãsitavãcã: Well-spoken Speech of Gen. Prayuth Chan-o-cha in the duration of collecting data in September, 2016, it is found that Gen. Prayuth tried to communicate through such discourse to harmonize society by utilizing “Returning Happiness to the People of the Nation” broadcasting program in presenting the Government’s performance that tells the truth, points out the benefits, all of which comprised of loving-kindness mind that is in accordance with the scope of Subhãsitavãcã: Well-spoken Speech.
