A Model of Active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta Monks Based on Buddhist Psychology

Abstract

                The purposes of this research were 1) to study active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta monks, 2) to develop a model of active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta monks, and 3) to propose a model of active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta monks based on Buddhist Psychology. Qualitative research was used for research design and was divided into two phases. For the first phase, a field study using in-depth interview and observation were conducted for developing a model of active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta monks, and 17 key informants were selected by purposive sampling. For the second phase, focus group discussion was used for validate the developed model of active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta monks based on Buddhist Psychology, and 13 target groups were selected from purposive sampling. Data from in-depth interview and focus group discussion were analyzed by using content analysis and analytic induction.
     Research results were shown as follows:
    1. The current active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta monk was the process that approach into community and individual person. The way of practice for Dhammaduta monks followed Buddha teaching and Buddhist disciples. 
    2. A model of active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta monks consisted Buddhist psychology composition which were Sangahavatthu 4, Manner of teaching 4, and the process of active Buddhist dissemination which were 1) Dhamma talk, 2) online communication, 3) printing communication, 4) Dhamma practice, 5) social work, and 6) religious relations. The qualification of Dhammaduta monks are good manners, focus on resolution, qualities of a preacher, good language skill. This will lead to apply the threefold training for the guideline for living.
    3. A 4S model was developed for active Buddhist Dissemination of India-Nepal Overseas Dhammaduta monks based on Buddhist Psychology which composed of Set goals, Skillful, Strategies and Smart.
