The purposes of the research entitled “An analysis of the Dhamma principle in merit-making tradition for dedication of Buddhists in the Municipality of Hat Kam Municipal Sub-district, Nongkhai Province” were; 1)  to study the Dhamma principle in merit-making tradition of the Buddhists’ dedication of Buddhists as appeared in Theravada Buddhism 2) to study the merit-making tradition for dedication of Buddhists in the territory of Hat Kam Municipal sub-district, Maung District, Nongkhai Province and 3) to analyze the Dhamma Principle in merit-making tradition for dedication of Buddhists in the Municipality of Hat Kam Municipal Sub-distrrict, Maung District, Nongkhai Province in accordance with the concept of Theravada Buddhism.

To make dedicahin to the departed or to distribute the Buddhist offerings as appeared in Tipitaka develops from the belief in special merit-making dedication in Buddhism in the ceremony that may be called as the ceremony for merit-making dedicating to the departed. When Buddhism occurred, Buddhism improved the mentioned concept from the merit-making for the God and then to change the individual to know how to give donations, to observe the precepts and to develop the mental culture instead by focusing on the dedication to give the merit to the departed.

The merit-making tradition or Boon Chaekkhaow of the Buddhists in the Municipality of Nongkhai municipality has been changed in accordance with the Isan Culture that is called as the merit –charity by having the concepts and the principle of Dhamma as appeared in various rituals, that is, the grateful teaching, that threefold trainings or unity etc.
