The Guidelines to Promote the Lanna Buddhist Culture Identity of Lampang Province has three purposes: 1) to study the background and importance of Lanna Culture, 2) to study the cultural identity of Lanna Culture of Lampang Province, and 3) to promote Buddhist identity through Lanna Culture of Lampang province. It is a qualitative study.
The research found that the identity of Lanna Buddhist Culture of Lampang Province comes from the teachings, beliefs, lifestyles, occupations, religious ceremonies, and traditions including spoken and written language, food, clothing, housing, and hospitality of the community people.
The outstanding culture and traditions of Lampang Province include the Saloong Luang Parade, Pooja Dram-playing, Loy Krathong, and the gratitude paying to the Wang River.
The Guidelines to Promote the Identity of Lanna Buddhist Culture of Lampang Province must take cooperation from the monks, government and private sectors, community leaders, and citizen. These guidelines consist of seven aspects:
1) the cultural management and the ways to transfer Lanna Culture, 2) the promotion of local culture, 3) the cultural inheritance, 4) the development of culture, 5) the information provision, 6) the education, and 7) the tourism in order to promote and preserve the important culture and unique identity of Lampang Province.
