Buddhist Academic Administration Model for Small Size Schools Under The Office of The Primary Education Service Area Lower Northern

Abstract

The objectives of this study were in 3 folds: 1) to study the academic administration management status of small-size schools under the Primary Education Area Office in Lower Northern Areas; 2) to propose the Buddhist academic administration management model for those small-size schools; and 3) to evaluate the proposed Buddhist academic administration management model applied by the small -size schools under the Primary Education Area Office in the Lower Northern Areas.

The research study had 3 steps of operation; 1) on the study of the academic administration management status, there were 20 informants. The data gathering used the semi-structured interviews. The contextual analysis was used to the gathered data; 2) on the proposed Buddhist academic administration management model, there were 11 informants. The data gathering used focus group method. The research tool used was the focus group records and the contextual analysis was applied; 3) on the evaluation on the Buddhist academic administration management model. There were 30 informants, the research tool used for this step was the questionnaire of 4 dimensions; the evaluation of correctness, of appropriateness, of practicality and of utility. The statistics used were mean and standard deviation.

 

 

The research results revealed that:

1)  On the study of academic administration management status. It showed that there were curriculum analysis, curriculum structure establishment. The application was done by the administrators in supervising teachers in the areas. The supervised teachers were expected to manage learning process, self -develop in using teaching media, providing and producing teaching materials, seeking for learning sources, and using those learning sources both inside and outside schools. They were as well expected to set up related rules and regulations as the manuals for the evaluation so that there would be the real and continuous evaluation system. From that those teachers would be able to arrange and proceed variety of supervision system management and implementation so that the schools would meet the internal quality assurance standard of the Ministry.

2) On the proposed Buddhist academic administration management model, it revealed that there were 18 models of curriculum management system, 18 learning management methods, 15 learning media development methods, 14 learning sources development patterns, 14 patterns of evaluation, 16 supervision styles and 10methods of internal quality assurance.

3) On the evaluation of the small schools’ 4 dimensions and 7 patterns of the Buddhist academic administration management model, it turned out that the statistics value was at the high level
