Abstract

The Comparative Study of the Business men’s roles in supporting Buddhism at the Buddha’s time and at present time.  :  A Case Study of Dr. Boonyong  Vongvanij.

This study is of 3 purposes, namely:- to study the roles of business towards Buddhism in the Buddha’s time, to study the roles played by Dr.Boonyong Vongvanij towards Buddhism and to study the roles played by the business men in the promotion of Buddhism at the Buddha’s time. The result of the research can be concluded as follows:-

                  The roles of business men towards Buddhism at the Buddha’s time can be summarized into 3 points, namely:-  1. bringing the Buddha’s teachings to be applied to administration of oneself, of the people and of the work.  2. brining the faith in Buddhism to be applied to daily life and business management in activities that promote Buddhism in various fields such as, patronage of Buddhism, supporting the priests, offering consuming goods and medicines, building the monks’ residence which are important for the existence of Buddhism which coordinates the relations with the monks to be in unity.  3. helping the business men to be responsible for the promotion of Buddhism whether it is the role of a religious heir, the role of Buddhism, and the social roles for the existence of Buddhism.

                   Dr.Boonyong  Vongvanij’s roles towards Buddhism can be summarized as follows:- 1. to bring the context of Buddhist principles to guide the management of their own people to improve their qualities of social security and well-being. 2. to help the offiers to promote Buddhism as well as a coordinating the relationship with good people, and religion through the channel of activity. 3. to be responsible for the promotion of Buddhism which is the sequence of participation with the activity like the role of religious heirs, the role of Buddhism using technology to encourage the media to listen of fair Dharma talk including the roles of social work, the help from relatives with the assistance of friendly family welfare and the welfare for the poor.

            The comparative role in the promotion of Buddhism played by business man in the Buddha’s period and Dr.Boonyong  Vongvanij can be summarized in 3 points as follows:- 1. their principle of people administration Found that both age are fairly consistent with the principles applied in the administration to develop their own family and society However, the difference between the conditions of time. 2. the activities related to Buddhism like The patronage of Buddhism with four factors Second generation into activity associated with Buddhism to prosperity respectively the difference subject to appropriate in help 3. the role of to be responsible for the promotion of Buddhism promoting Buddhism like a heir, and in propaganda the assistance of the social work consistent and with activity aims bringing the Buddha’s teachings to be applied to the quality of life differences role of activity to promote Buddhism.
