Abstract

 

ABSTRACT
The research entitled “The Study of Situations and Methods for Teaching and Learning Management of the Ecclesiastical Dhamma Schools in Kaengkhoi District, Saraburi Province” has the following objectives : (1) to study the situations and methods for teaching and learning management, (2) to compare the situations and methods for teaching and learning management classified by personal status, and (3) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions in the teaching and learning management. The survey research is conduct random sampling of 164 samples of teachers and students. The tools used for data collection of this research are the questionnaires devided into three parts as Part 1 : the check list on personal data of the respondents such as status, age, ordination years. Part 2 : the questionnaire on situations and methods of teaching and learning management. Part 3 : the open questionnaire on problems, obstacles and suggestions in teaching and learning management of the secular education, Dhamma and Pali studies ; Ecclesiastical Dhamma Schools in Kaengkhoi District, Saraburi Province. The reliability test is 0.971. The statistics are used for the data analysis through such as percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D) and one-way Anova and Least Significant Different : LSD.

The findings of this research are as following :
1. In overall, situations and methods for teaching and learning management of the Ecclesiastical Dhamma Schools in Kaengkhoi District, Saraburi Province in five parts were in the medium level. An average was at 3.32 , and when considered by each part found that curriculum was in the high level but the others such as course preparation, course syllabus, teaching materials and assessment were in the medium levels. 
 
2. The situations and methods for teaching and learning management of the Ecclesiastical Dhamma Schools in Kaengkhoi District, Saraburi Province classified by personal status such as different age, it is relevant to hypothesis set up. For the monks who have the different ordination years, secular education, Dhamma and Pali studies, it is not statistically significant different, so the relevant to hypothesis set forth could be rejected.
 
3. The key problems of monks who have running the teaching and learning management of the Ecclesiastical Dhamma Schools in Kaengkhoi District, Saraburi Province are lack of experienced teachers to create the course syllabus, study schedule and schedule was not suitable. Teaching materials and resources were not sufficient, learning and testing assessment were measured by only learners. Therefore, the monks and directors of the said ecclesiastical schools should recruit more teachers, support and increase more energy of creating the course syllabus. Furthermore, teaching materials should be provided adequately as well as assessment should be tested also both to learners and teachers. They should work systematically with full capacity. They also should have the good conducts, proper behaviors according to disciplines, well patient and devote to work hard with sincerity for the security of Buddhism.
