Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

               The objectives of this research are i) to study the factors that affect participation in Buddhist Holy Days: A case study of students in College of professional Community in Maha rat District, Ayutthaya Province, ii) to compare the attitudes toward participation in Buddhist Holy Days, classified by the personal factors and iii) to study the suggestions of guideline to promote participation in Buddhist Holy Days. The research is survey research. Data collections are conducted using questionnaire with 254 targets of normally students in College of professional Community in Maha rat District, selected by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using Statistical Program for analysis of Social Science data. Statistical values of Frequency, Percentage, Average and Standard Deviation were described. t-test was used for two variables. F-test with One-way ANOVA was employed for at least three variables. Statistical significance was conducted using Least Significant Difference (LSD) with 0.735 level of significance.

 

The findings of this research are as follows:

1) The overall the factors that affect participation in the Buddhist Holy Days: A case study of students in College of professional Community in Maha rat District, Ayutthaya Province was found at the high level. When considered in each aspects,
it was also noticed at the high levels in all aspects, namely i)
the faith (
= 3.72) ii) the form of worship (  = 3.65) iii) the requirements (  = 3.63) and iv) the environment
(
 = 3.59).

2) With regard to comparison of the factors that affect participation in the Buddhist Holy Days: A case study of students in College of professional Community
in Maha rat District, Ayutthaya Province, classified by the personal factors, it was found that the factors that affect participation in the
Buddhist Holy Days: A case study of students in College of professional Community in Maha rat District, Ayutthaya Province with the different of sex, and age of students was statistically different at .01 level of significance, therefore the hypotheses were accepted. However, the factors that affect participation in the Buddhist Holy Days: A case study of students in College of professional Community in Maha rat District, Ayutthaya Province with  the different
of  level of
 Studies class and department  was not statistical significance, therefore the hypotheses were rejected.

3) For the suggestions of guideline to promote about the factors that affect participation in the Buddhist Holy Days: A case study of students in College of professional Community in Maha rat District Ayutthaya Province, it was found that:
the  suggestions of guideline to promote participation in the rituals of Buddhism
offers the following guidelines: i) there should improve the internal environment in the temple or place of practice to clean, green and beautiful, to improve transportation assistance
to participate in the
Buddhist Holy Days, ii) there should be a process and performance, there should be described Dhamma to understand about the importance of the Buddhism, iii) there should guide students to see the results of good karma
to participate in the
Buddhist Holy Day and there should advice practical for important of Buddhism, iv) there should encourage students for activities to participate in religious rituals day. College of Professional should disseminate knowledge for students about participation in religious rituals day rightly and regularly.
