Buddhism is one of the oldest world religions, it has been practised and professed by over 300 million people throughout the world. Its teachings brought tremendous benefits to mankind for over 2,500 years. Buddha's teachings are the path leading to enlightenment, happy and peaceful life. When the time passed by, even though there are many schools arising in Buddhism, but the uniqueness of Buddhist teaching is still accepted as the religion of peace, the religion of wisdom and the religion of freedom. To response to the modern challenge, the collaboration among Buddhist followers is indispensable. The Buddhist organizations around the world must join hand in hand to work together for happiness, benefits, prosperity and welfare of mankind. To fulfill this purpose, Mahachulalongkornrajavidayalaya University will be hosting the International Conference on Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism from 16-20 July, 2547 at Buddhamonthon Main Hall, Nakorn Pathom and United Nations Conference Center (UNCC), Ratchadamnernnok, Bangkok. Approximately 1,000 Buddhist leaders who play a major role from various countries will come to participate the conference to share and exchange experiences and knowledge in the theme of Buddhist organization, Buddhist education, propagation of Buddhism, Buddhism and social welfare and collaboration in Organizing Annual Activities on the International Recognition of the Day of Vesak.
